The Waubay Middle School students were invited to compete in the Elks Americanism Essay Contest. Both seventh and eighth grade competed. The essays were judged by a panel of four judges from the local Elks lodge #838. The following schools also competed: Deuel, Florence, Immaculate Conception, Waubay, Waverly/South Shore, and Webster.
Waubay School had two students selected as winners in the seventh grade division. Second place was awarded to Shaelyn Galloway and fourth place was awarded to Aiden Butler. Both students will be honored at an awards banquet at The Elks Lodge #838 on Feb. 13th and receive a cash prize.
We are very proud of our two winners and all of the students that participated.
