Waubay School District will be changing its cell phone policy starting with the first day of school this year. Cell phones and headphones will NOT be allowed in the classrooms throughout the day. The district is asking that elementary students leave their cell phones at home. Junior high students will be asked to leave their cell phones in their lockers or place them in the classroom in a designated place. High school students may have their phones on them during the day, but they are not allowed to have them out during their classes. High school students may check their phones during passing time and during lunch. If they are caught using them or have them out when they are not supposed to, there will be consequences that can include phone being confiscated to detention or suspension. Headphones are not allowed in school for any age student. If you need to get a message to your student, our office staff will be happy to assist you.
